"Sarah has been able to affect a change in the scar on my back which has been stiff and immobile for 23 years. I can bend forward for the first time in years more comfortably. Sarah is very respectful of me and caring. It’s the first time I’ve experienced a significant difference in my back through scarwork" HB - ScarWork client
"I recently had a treatment from Sarah for a scar following abdominal surgery in 1998. The scar had always been numb at one end yet painful to touch. After I had just one treatment, the pain and numbness were reduced and I was very pleased with the result" DL - ScarWork client
"I had a surgery to a benign tumour on my leg as a baby. That was 22 years ago! Since Sarah’s treatment I’ve got more sensation in and around the scar and I have the impression the scar is more united and less red. The treatment was very gentle and pleasant. Scarwork has not only improved the feeling in my scar but also my body" Raphael - ScarWork client
Client with scar from: fall off motorbike
Age of scar at start of treatment: 2 months
Number and length of treatments given: 4 X 45minute treatments
Time between before and after photo: 16 weeks
Primary treatment goal: to improve knee flexion, reduce hypersensitivity, aching and “prickly” feelings
Treatment summary: Knee felt painful, tight, numb, lumpy and generally uncomfortable. Patient described the scar tissue on her quadriceps as “alien”. Patient wore a knee brace for first 3months and was concerned about potential muscle wasting. ScarWork involved working well away from the area initially due to hypersensitivity, followed by gradual introduction of ScarWork techniques to relax and smooth oedematous areas. Flexion improved significantly in combination with the patient’s own physiotherapy.
